Tawa Medical provides a wide range of general practice medical services to the people in Tawa and surrounding suburbs. We also have physiotherapy, lab services and a Health Improvement Practitioner on-site.

Full family medical care

Family medical care consists of primary illness prevention and general healthcare. Always see your doctor if you or a family member are feeling unwell.

Infant checks and immunisations

We’ll take care of the good health and well-being of your infant with the required immunisations and checkups through the early stages of their life.

Contraception and sexual health care

Sexual health can be a challenging subject for some people. When you see us, we’ll treat you with total respect and discretion. We also supply Mirena IUDs.

Minor surgery

Your doctor can take care of a range of minor surgical procedures. Book an appointment if you have a suspect mole, lesion or other concerns.

Children and infants

All medical care is free for children under 14 years of age. If your child is feeling unwell, don’t hesitate to book an appointment as soon as possible.

Nursing services and advice

Book an appointment to see a nurse if you need a smear, booster shot or any other vital service.

Well-being

We have a fully funded Health Improvement Practitioner on-site to help you with general mental health and well-being. Simply book through reception.

Travel immunisations

If you need to travel to another part of the world, we can take care of any essential vaccinations or medication. Contact your doctor to discuss.

Lab services

Awanui Labs are located on-site at Tawa Medical 8-8:30 providing lab services by APPOINTMENT ONLY. If you require a blood test, please call the Tawa Medical reception on 232-7193 to book an appointment.

We also offer a range of special services such as LTC appointments, driver licence medicals and more. Contact reception for more information.

Podiatrist

Foot mechanics provides podiatry services on-site at Tawa Medical.
